What to do after a pipe breaks?

1. Turn off the water to the building - some people may have to be without water for a time but it is better than the alternative
2. Call mitigation company - the goal of mitigation is to remove the water and start the drying process to lessen the damage and prevent mold growth.
3. Call a plumber - have the broken pipe fixed right away to allow water to employees or clients.
4. Call the insurance company - commercial insurance want to know that action is being taken to lessen the cost. “What is being done to fix the problem?” is going to be their first question.
