Metal Studs in Commercial Building

When there is a water loss in a commercial building we often run into metal stud. They are notorious for hiding water and making it seem like the area is dry. It is because they have a U-shaped channel that the vertical studs placed into. When water runs down the wall it pools in these channels and is released slowly under the drywall and onto the carpet.

We often find mold in between the studs on the drywall because of the raised humidity. Removing the drywall is the best way to get rid of mold. And just in case there's a water loss in the future we seal the damaged area.
